Breeder vs Rescue

It’s like comparing apples to oranges, and you being judgmental is the worst way to make your point.

Rescuing animals is great, and we will always support it. But many times people who rescue act like it is the only option — often, it would seem like an attempt at making those who haven’t chosen that route feel uncomfortable that their dog was not a rescue.

Yes, there are a lot of bad breeders out there, but there’s also a lot of breeders who do it out of love and dedication to a specific breed. I chose Labradors, specifically English bred, because of my personal needs in hunting, show, and the best of all family dogs.

I would be very hard-pressed to find that type of specialized dog in a rescue.

Remember those good breeders do the proper health testing, love their breed, screen their adopters & aren’t out to make a quick buck. They’re committed to the dogs they love, and what’s wrong with that? Nothing.

Remember, the dedication and research you put in before choosing your next puppy is what makes a difference, not just the place of acquisition.

* Someone whose willing to be put on a year-long waiting list for a Labrador pup is dedicated, and chances are someone with that level of dedication will make an awesome owner.

At least we think so.
