Filson Tin Chaps...OMG!

If you are looking for an excellent chap that will stand up to decades of abuse, the Filson Tin Chaps are for you.

They are the most durable chap I have ever owned in over 3 decades of hunting.

Just like with all of Filson’s garments, they use high-quality components. Their chaps are no exceptions, tough, classic, with quality snaps.

The Tin cloth does not breath great, the chaps do circulate air because of the fit, so they may be hot early season for many areas. It comes down to a decision if you want to sacrifice some comfort in warm weather for durability and complete and total function.

I would note that in the areas like mine, Minnesota, a large majority of the days hunted, the chaps have performed perfectly. If you want a chap that is tough as sharkskin and you are not worried about those few hotter days you might run into, I highly recommend the Filson Tin chaps.

When I am not out duck or pheasant hunting in these chaps, they see time working in the yard, hiking with the dog on the windy days, and cutting wood.

The chaps were fabulous at deflecting branches and protecting my legs from piercing thorns that normally made pin cushions out of my Levi's.

If on the rare occasion, a barbed-wire fence makes a small tear in the chaps, you can quickly remedy that with needle and thread.
